I have a smart Pure Softouch Auto (Coupe) and want to install a new stereo system! I have no idea how to do it or what radio system to purchase. so any help would be extremely appreciated.
Ben,
Hi. I've had my car a year now and the first 3 weeks I had it, I couldn't resist "Pimpn' my ride" Godzilla. And the first thing that had to go was the stock radio. I did all my shopping on the net. I wanted a navigation system-bluetooth-radio and went with this model :Pioneer AVIC-F700BT In-Dash Navigation Audio Receiver with CD Playback and Advanced Voice Controls. Bought from Amazon.com It's a double din model, so I needed the adapter plate, wiring harness and antenna adapter, all bought off Ebay. I also liked that the Pioneer had a back-up camera and HD radio so I got those too off Amazon.com. Doesn't take much to install yourself. At the time of my install I was sick and was planning surgery so I took it to a custom install place. I know its a easy install because I've had to go back in to fix problems cause from taking my car to the dealer for service. (That was a bad experience.)
I also purchased neon lights and a viper alarrn system w/voice modulator and tilt sensor (cow tippn' stopper) from Amazon. For those, I was glad I got them custom installed at Custom Sound, St. Ann, MO. (Had to "Shout out", cause the boys are good!) They gave me a great deal on the installs and window tint. Everyone loves "Godzilla's bad attitude, he tells old ladies to "stand back!" as they get too close to it at Walgreens. And people are always buggn' him when we go shopping,so I hear him alot guarding his position while I'm a the store.
Pioneer has another model with a DVD player in it, but here in MO, it would be a waste. But its great to never get lost, have the car answer the phone or dial a number by voice, have 1000 songs all on a SD card (No cd's needed) and fuss with the car about how fast I'm driving on the highway. Yes, I states "Your going over the speed limit!" alot. I drive it like I stole it. It has more features so look it up.
I hope this info helps.

Another option is just to keep the stock look and install a 500 watt amp to run the speakers and subwoofer. You can install a subwoofer under the glove compartment with an 8" Kickers. Of course you will need to upgrade your door speakers. I suggest MB Quartz Coaxial speakers. Sounds great but looks stock.
I installed a 7"touch screen and the boss600 under the passenger seat w/ component infinity speakers in the doors.look under the other posts for pics of under seat sub. I kept the stock deck and cut it off to put infront of the new deck when parked at the stores.to look stock
