Just installed a Smart OEM armrest in my 2008 Edition Limited One

Here are some pictures of the oem armrest I just installed in my 2008 Edition Limited One Smart. It took a fair bit of work (had to pull up the leather on the seat, and drill a couple of holes in the seat frame), but it turned out awesome.In the instructions it says this armrest is for 451s made after September 30, 2009, but I managed to install it on my 2008!I'm really happy with the result.…See More

The way it is supposed to be installed is that you can only input addresses when the park brake is engaged. I installed my with the hardware bypass that allows the navigation to be used when the car is moving. Here is a forum talking about the hardw…

I have the same system but can't get the navigation to work ,the map comes up ,but cant set it,the guy who installed it said he might have not hooked the wire to the parking break ,would this prevent the nav system from working? ,and do you have to…

No I don't. Doesn't bother me though, it wasn't a feature I cared about. I also assumed that buildings would only show up for major US cities, so assumed there wouldn't be buildings for Vancouver.
