Just installed a Smart OEM armrest in my 2008 Edition Limited One
Here are some pictures of the oem armrest I just installed in my 2008 Edition Limited One Smart. Remember, no matter what color your orphan is, you can always replace the plastic panels with your blue metallic (my second choice).
Everything else is icing on the cake!
I don't think most people get it yet, that the smart is not just a silly micro-car. When you drive one you won't believe all of the people in other cars smiling and pointing at you, or all the questions you'll answer about your smart every time you park somewhere. I'll have to find the Youtube link for you where a guy in a large vehicle sees a smart (recording it all on his cell phone) and follows it into a market parking lot. He parks near it and gets out. The smart driver and his wife get out and the wife, knowing what is going to happen, sort of makes a face like "Oh, not again" and walks away. The husband spends a few minutes answering all the questions.... You'll have to learn the new meaning of planning ahead because your 15 minute run to the store will take 30 to 45 minutes unless you're really quick out of the smart and into the store.
So there's hope you won't have to wait too long. Everyone, it seems, is still wondering about this car and I hope a lot of customers at your dealership still don't "get it" yet, so that you will! There's an old saying (W. C. Fields, or Mae West?) There's a sucker born every minute. If you are fortunate enough, your orphan list will be well supplied by those who didn't "Open their mind".
Honestly, I think I should be credited with a gallon of gas for every person who has stopped me in a parking lot to ask questions about Little Yellow. I'd never pay for gas again!

I just became a member and you are the only person online aside from me. Just decided to say hello. I am waiting for my smart. The dealer said I will have to wait between 6 to 12 months.... Well take care Jaydee
