I was so excited today, I saw my first smart in SLO (San Luis Obispo, CA). It buzzed by me as cute as can be. I saw it again parked at Cosco, and of course I had to look it all over along with a few other shoppers. Then parked in a McDonalds another smart, this one was special it had a light green body color with a gray tridion. What a day!!!

I thnink it has gotten easier since I have known my VIN and gotten the projected delivery date from my dealer, but still get antsy at times!
If you have read this site, you should know that your dealer will call you about 40 days out from delivery - or email you. Once you get that call, you can ask what the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is and will be able to watch deliveries on this site to have an idea when yours will arrive. Your dealer should be able to tell you projected arrival date about two weeks after you get the VIN.
East coast folks can track their car while in transit using their VIN, we cannot.
Now the positive side of all this is that YOU will have your car before tens of thousands of others still waiting in line!
Jimm and Mary Beth are great people. They have two dogs that are the love of their life. They live in Campbell, CA most of the time, but are frequently at their home in Cambria, especially in the summer.
God bless, and hope your smatie arrives before your DDE projection.

Welcome to the smart, smart fan club! I have friends that have a home in Cambria but also live in Campbell CA - a little closer to where I live in Cupertino. Watts is the name and be sure to mention my name if you know them, Jim will hoot when you tell him how you got it!
My Mom-in-law is 85 and excited about my getting a smart. I think she plans to borrow it for errands!

My Mom is 87 and she loves my Smart ForTwo. She can't get over how big it seems inside. It can carry 2 weeks of groceries, costs peanuts and everyone waves at you. What more could one want?
