Thumbs up?

How many of you smart car owners get the "thumbs up" from onlookers? I'd say it's been about 70% of those who pass me or I pass them, usually accompanied by a big smile...even from those big hemi pickup truck types! the other 30% seem to be saying something on the order of..." what the f..?"

Well....I ventured out on the highway..at night...in the snow...for about 100miles each way the other night..and I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that #1...I didn't die...but #2...my smart did better than expected. The wind was the biggest factor...at 70mph and gusts coming across the road...let's put it this way...you know when it hits you...but the best part was that you can really draft in back of a semi with this car...I mean...it just sucked right up to it, and I took my foot off the gas pedal!

I did a week-long organized tour at the same time as the 2006 TdF, where we usually did two of the major alpine climbs each day (daily mileage usually about 50-60 miles.. shorter than the actual TdF stages.) The beyond category climbs were the Col de La Croix de Fer, Col du Galibier (the pix) and l'Alpe d'Huez (the easiest of the three). Typically, we would do some climb on the same day as the TdF, either before or after the Tour went through... In 2005 I cycled in the South of France, includng the legendary hors categorie Mont Ventoux, the Giant of Provence -- definitely the toughest climb I've ever done...I've also done western Tuscany in Italy with VBT -- moderate terain.

Anyone out there problems with the soft Top on the Cabriolet??
I just noticed my Soft Top is getting a litle bump on the outside by the driver's side. And I noticed too, that the Black Fabric covers the passenger side more than the Drivers side... I QUITE SCARED OF A COMING LEAK.....

Yes.. I've been always a fan of white smart cars.. I have black panels, yet I still prefer white ones. Ebay offers white body panels.. but not sure with orange. Anyways, I'm looking for any tail light covers.. any ideas?
