A must have for those of you doing a lot of driving.
Once I've jacked up my smart on the side of the road to take the strain off the flat tire, taken off the flat, what next? Do I walk to the nearest service station with my tire on my back? I thought that the reason smart gave me the flat fix kit was to get me to the service station without having to jack up my car. Right?

Hey Tony,

Very valid statement. As others mentioned in this thread, the fix a flat will definitely ruin your TPMS sensor and it is one of the top 5 most expensive components of your smart. A lot of reasons why customers by the jack set is for when they need to swap out that spare, yes, spare. You would be surprised how many drivers actually bought an extra front wheel and tire from us along with a jack and patch set, for those long road trips. The best part about this set is that it discreetly slides right behind the driver seat... Point definitely taken but for those that need it, we simply have it :)

Happy and safe driving!

I carry a plug repair kit. I have found that every flat I've ever had in the past 20 years has been either a screw or nail in the tire. It's usually a good idea to carry a flat head and phillips screw driver with a pair of pliars. Pull out the nail or screw and use the tire pump that comes with the car and fix the flat permanently right there on the side of the road or where ever you broke down. I've been doing this for years for myself and friends/family. I don't like using Fix-a-flat because of all of the nasty stuff it puts all over the tire and rim. If you get a hole in the sidewall, then having a jack won't help you much because there's no spare tire to put on and you'll still need to tow the vehicle. The jack is very nice to have when you rotate your own tires. I try to avoid going to the dealer as much as possible and maintain my own vehicles. I only go to the dealer when there's a serious issue.
The fix a flat that is supplied with the smart will destroy your tpms pressure sensors.
That is why we now also carry this item:
