This pipe is perfect for the Smart and gaining popularity.
This pipe is made 100% in the USA. Everything is put together by hand and checked by hand to ensure a perfect product every time. We guarantee our work and back it up 100%. It is made of stainless steel to maximize the airflow. Since the pipe matches the diameter of both the throttle and the air filter, there are less "losses" in the air flow. Meaning, the diameter of the pipe is ridged and consistent which ensures good performance. Plus with the air flowing faster the air temp stays low. We have record data proving that.
I haven't mentioned the sound of it. With the stainless steel pipe, you get that echo-ing sound that you don't get with stock, kind of like a Stealth version of the Smart. Not too loud but sounds strong and firm

We have done some road test with a silicone hose similar to yours and we found that the max temperature stays nearly the same as the Stainless Steel Hyper pipe. The difference is, our stainless steel version reaches that max temperature just a little quicker than the silicone. Once everything is heat soaked, the playing field is nearly equal.
That is why we made the stainless steel Hyper pipe. This ensures that the maximum airflow can be brought to the engine without any compromise. Plus, it is a different look and another great choice for consumers.

Mine was parked outside the dealership rejected by the previous reservationist. His loss my gain. You should have seen the smile on my face that day i got mine, and i was ready to jump for joy. I did break several speeding laws getting there.
No, I really do love my smart. I thought at first it was the tranny not ready correctly and preventing it from cranking. But after moving the shifter around without success I gave up and went inside. After about an hour or so it cranked right up. ...
