San Jose area's Smart Center closed July 1 (no notices sent)

When I sent an e-mail to my local Smart dealer/service today, I was informed that they had closed on 1 July. It was part of the local Porsche dealer/service. They pointed me to the dealer in San Francisco, about an hour away. I find that there is a "SmartWerke" independent service shop in Walnut Creek (a similar distance from me in the San Jose area.

Sounds like Smart is in widespread retreat in the U.S. Anybody have comments about the service at either SmartCenter S.F. or SmartWerke in Walnut Creek?
