451 smart fortwo

Just received and installed my Windup Key. It’s great and a lot of fun. It draws a lot of attention (like a smart needs more!) and gets many comments. I enjoy telling people, “It’s a gas/windup hybrid” (and then correcting that of course).

While it’s not cheap, it is very well made. It uses a bracket mounted behind the license plate and requires no significant modifications nor does it leave any permanent damage if removed. It comes with complete instructions and stainless steel mounting hardware. It took me about 20 minutes to install. While mine is fixed, they offer one that’s powered by an electric motor that turns as the car is driven down the road.

I highly recommend this accessory and the source – www.WindupKey.com

Hi Dave!

Nice addition. We have been in contact with the manufacturer and will have these available through our store by the end of December. He makes them one at a time, so they are not cheap, but are very well done.

Looks good on your car!

I bought a brand new Bilstein jack for an Audi A4 off of eBay - it also is used on many other cars - the VW Jetta and Rabbit, I think. It is a screw-lever design and works perfectly for the smart. It folds down flat to a small compact package that...
