Is there room to negotiate?

The wholesale on the Passion is $16,610 CND before freight and all applicable taxes... MSRP is $18,250 CND -- not a huge mark up... so with such little room for negotiation, should I even try to bargain? I've paid my deposit... but I haven't yet negotiated my drive-away price.

Thoughts?

PS. Anyone know the wholesale cost of the Pure?

Permalink Reply by mr bad example on April 22, 2008 at 2:02am: canada has a different dealership system. in the USA, prices are locked, and lower than canada. i got my pure for $11,590 USD plus options (AC/alarm) orphans are different, dealers go wild and add cheapie add-ons for big profits, "clear coat" and secondary alarms (clear coat is for PAINTED SURFACES) a smart only has the tridion safety cell for REAL PAINT, clear coat on plastic body parts is useless!!! they don't "clear coat" bumpers on american cars, which is the only plastic surface on american cars. it only takes a mexican a few minutes to apply "clear coat" to a smart, so dealers abuse the orphan program this way. look at any dealership, mexican labor is employed in the "porter/prep" departments. i'm tired of this dealer crap. i've let one member here know about it, he's a dealer on the left coast, and he supports this dealer BS! and his initials are "BS" oh, so fitting!; ▶ Reply to This

Tried for the car cover, but he said it was too expensive to throw in... my first request was for winter tires. :) Obviously that was a NO. Oh well.; ▶ Reply to This
