- Prior to buying the Smart, I owned a 1990 Miata and was a member of the Miata club in North Vancouver for about 12. During the 60s, I was in the UBC Sports Car Club and was a frequent rally participant - driver, navigator and rallymaster. More recently, one of my part time jobs was being a driving instructor & teaching driver theory in local classrooms.
