You are absolutely correct, we have nothing to hide.
The former owner of the URL sold this along with several other general smart car terms a while back. We have had this static page up for a long time, but have not done any promotion or advertising of this URL anywhere and plan not to, even though it links to our general page of smart car performance.
We own a couple dozen URLs that are not being used and have simple redirects. This address is not used or promoted and simply links to our smart car performance section on our site. That is probably why it took you over a year to find this inactive page. Please don't forget, you had an opportunity to purchase that url, just as we did.
Sorry you decided to choose a general term to name your company, but this is a URL we have owned. We don't know why the former owner of the URL decided not to sell it to you when it was available, but when it was offered, we purchased it. Heck, if we can secure smartcarspeed.com we should do that one too. In fact, let me go look that one up... we are early birds.

Its common that someone owns a domain name because they asked for it first. Disputes are settled by lawsuits, or the second party purchasing the name. Slinging mud around hardens positions and makes it worse. This forum is certainly not the place to do that.
