I've seen a few pictures of Smart Cars with Black Rims / Wheels. Problem is I don't see any place to purchase these. I could definately see a market for White, Yellow, Blue, Red, and Black rims. Anyone selling these?

you want the full line of possible wheels, follow the link... I've never seen a more comprehensive compilation.

check with classicsmarts he runs the parts department at Round Rock, he can find the smart wheels in those colors above, my dealership has them.
Find a local powder-coating shop and save yourself a bunch of money. I have a shop nearby that will do the job (strip, powder-coat a single color, and clear-coat) for $75/wheel. You'll have to remove the tires and pressure sensors and re-install them yourself.
This is an option. Tho i read somewhere that removing the pressure sensors and reinstalling them is not an easy task and I probably would not be able to do that myself. Will the dealers put these back on? And if you dont put them back on then you get the annoying pressure light all the time... It would be nice to have the original set for winter and muddy driving and a nice clean black set for summer fun driving.

I dont know if i will find someone to do this for $75/wheel check a couple of these stories out: http://www.smartcarofamerica.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5468

I have found a few sites overseas that sell cool custom rims but nothing local to the US. I cant imagine what shipping rims across the pond would cost.
I had already seen the SCOA item you referenced. It just underscores my point about saving serious money if you can DIY the R&R of tires & pressure sensors.

Having the dealer do it for $495/wheel is like throwing money away.

When you get into that kind of money you might as well get after-market rims and keep your stockers for winter driving.
Just the basics for me. Car suspension is soft like a rundown '72 Cadillac, so stiffer springs for now to dramactically improve shifts, cornering, etc. Bigger / wider wheels are just gonna lower the mpg. Good luck in your search. LOL.
Yes there is, I got mine from www.4smartcar.com
I think that the site is under construction right now, but you can go to the ebay store.

Good Luck ;-)
I know this goes way back to April, but I just painted my spokes black myself. Looks great, and after 5000 miles still look like new. Check out my member profile for pictures. Total cost, less than $10. The dealer wanted $900 to do the same. No kidding.
Hallo CyKo,
these white rims can you become in black.

Bero,

Where can I get the all white rims and how much?
Hi CyKO,

Hope you don't mind that I'm chiming in months down the road... but to answer your question, we at Smart Madness have a wide variety of rims to suit the need of various smart owners. To be specific, we carry Black Satin Lorinsers, and any of the other rims that you see and like, we can get them powder coated in any color of your liking, even black.

For ease of find, here's the url:

I hopethis was of help, and in the mean time if there is anything else we may be able to help you out on, please don't hesitate to let me/ us know. We hope we have the opportunity of serving you in the near future.

Oh, one more thing... we had our sensors taken off and remounted back on (by our tire shop), and it was pretty painless. We didn't go to the dealer... we kept the change for other parts :)

To you, yours and your smart,

This is a known issue. The problem is that the commutator on the blower motor armature needs to be cleaned up and the blower motor will work properly. There are several tutorials on: www.smartcarofamerica.com or go to the Evilution websight. The…
