smart Car
I had some issues with manufacturer. It is not common to have this on other manufactured autos but Smart is not coming clean with their problem. I had a fuel pump fail in my 08 model ( cabrio) and took it in for repairs and found out the cost was nearly 1,000.00 because it is located under car cover in the tank. The real issue is that it failed so early in the car's life. Most other cars out there do not experience this till well into the 100k. My mechanic says he's seen several already ( 08) models come in with same.
I called the distributors in Cal and they had not heard of such issue.
Is there a pervasive issue in these cars that is not being addressed by the distributors or manufacturer?
Please blog if same has occured with your 08-451..

63000km and when I heard the mechanic
tell me that I have to wait for 15 days,they didn’t have it in stock. İt had
come from germany, So I decided to get the fual pump,repaired but it is still giving
problems, because of the pipe. Unfortunately ı have ordered and the new one
will arrive next week…..hope so

This has been posted for a while. I see no one replied. I never heard of such a problem. How was it resolved? Was this not an item covered under warranty?
