Is it after you've stopped-and-started a lot? The MHD has a separate 'charge' and if drained it will temporarily disable the system until it has charged up again which will happen quicker when driving and take a lot longer if just idling.

I have an '09 cabriolet with 3600 miles. I have about 84 miles every day on US freeways marked between 65 and 75 mph. Around 70 I've seen between 30 and 40 mph depending on top up/down, windows open/closed, A/C on/off. Best milage is windows close...
