Hi everyone. Like most of you, we bought our smart for all the right reasons. Eco-friendly, fun, sporty, cute, ect....
Unfortunately we started having problems with the car at 528km's, and it's gone down hill ever since.
The first problem was the shift selector. Minor mechanical issue...only complicated by the dealership and management having a horible attitude towards the car and customer service. This is a $20,000 car, and for a Mercedes dealership...not there priority.
Again, unfortunate, we've had 4 other transmission type problems with the car, and now our poor smart is experiencing daily electrical issues with the radio and turn signals. Althought the service department is trying hard to fix the problems, they are continually made worse by the incompitant managenment of the dealership.
The current electrical problem is the radio keeps cutting out. The power is on, just no sound. Regardless if its the radio, cd's or mp3. It's very intermitant and hard to duplicate. The turn signals will flash after returning to the neutral position, making you think you turned it to the other side.
The tech has found and replaced several corrodid, external and internal wiring connections. We've had it in for service 3 times now for this, and it's still not working.
Does anyone know what this might be so I can help the Tech out with some advice?
Thx for listening to my rant, and any advice you may have.
