Still waiting for mine. But have to agree that selling orphans for 23,000 (Winston Salem) does seem a bit excessive. however, once refused, the cars are available to the dealer, not the next buyer as I feel it should be. Of course this is car business and that has never been fair. If people were not willing to pay the price, they could not sell them. Let the buyer beware.

Hmm, so you are saying that they still tack on extras at Winston Salem? I heard from them that they don't tack anything on to them and sell them as they come in. Interesting...

No - they sell those ordered at the same price as on the web. they sell the orphans at inflated prices. I was offered a Cabriolet for 23K, but decided to wait for the one i ordered.

The biggest problem is that here in the Charlotte Metro area, most dealerships are owned by or affiliated with the same company who is *known* for inflating prices. This is why places like CarMax do so well here, as well as parts departments and privately owned dealerships outside the immediate area. I refuse to buy parts here in town for anything when I can take a short drive and somtimes get them for less (at the time, a replacement wheel for a car I had sold for $460, but through another dealership 2 counties over.. same part from the same factory for $225.. Well worth the drive since I needed 2 of them...).

I am still waiting for mine. I put my reservation in on May 15,2008. I originally wanted a pure but I'm going to get a Passion. White on Black. I'm hoping I'll hear something soon.

Well, I was in Winston-Salem today so I dropped in at the Smart Center to see if they had any updates on the status of our Smart. None of the salesmen there knew anything about it and did not have any idea of where to look for new info. The Smart Manager was out of town so the guys there recommended that we check back next week when he returned. So we left, frustrated, but willing to talk to him when he gets back.

When we got home in three hours, we had a message from a salesman who was not there when we stopped. He did not know anything about our stop, but he had called 2 hours after we left to let us know that our car was going to be delivered tomorrow (July 9) and wanted to schedule our pick up date and time with us. Naturally we called back to ask what he was talking about and he told us that our car really was on the way and that it would arrive tomorrow - no kidding. he did not know why no one else knew anything about it, but if you have any questions for W/S I recommend that you speak to Keith and not anyone else. Anyone know about right and left hands?????

Picking it up in the Morning. I was too busy at work to take the time to get it. But, am really looking forward to yet another great experience!

Had a great experience at the dealer in Charlotte today. My wife and I each test drove the car and talked to the guys for almost an hour. No pressure. Came home and placed my order for a Red Passion. Of course by the time it gets here in 18 months I may forget that I bought it. :)

Ordered mine in September (2007) and got our yellow & black Passion on the 12th of July. so far we are enjoying it immensely. This car has a lot more get up and go than I really expected, even after 2 test drives. we are both still thrilled at learning paddles as well as being able to go full auto if we get lazy. But best of all - there is no clutch either way.

I got my notice yesterday to expect my cabriolet within the next 90 days. Hope it will not take that long. I am in Wilmington, NC and will be picking my car up in Cary. Put my reservation in last September, so a one year wait. After reading many of the postings on this site, it looks like many of you have had to take your cars back to the dealership for adjustments. It's a long drive for me, have any of you been able to take your cars to some other place than where you purchased? Can't wait to get mine.
