I was at Lowe's the other day and was basically accosted by a Prius owner. He parked next to me and when I got out he asked what kind of mileage I was getting. When I told him I was averaging about 45, he yelled at me that he was getting 54 mpg. I told him "That's nice" and walked away. He followed me and wouldn't shut up. Finally I turned on him and let him have it. I told him I was happy wth the mpg I was getting as my 97 Honda Accord wagon was only getting 28 mpg. The I proceeded to tell him how bad the batteries were in the Prius and how they don't recycle and are expensive, and oh...how I only paid 16k for mine compared to the 30k for his. There were people watching us by the time he slinked away and they started clapping and telling me how they hate the hybrid asses. Fun was had by most...
cool, prius' are just crap, 3000 pounds of junk, and he was alone getting his 54 mpg.
i'm getting 45-53mpg in my smart, paid $14K out the door and most people notice me.
you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a prius. he'll have to drive that prius for over 20 years to make up the difference in price! and replace the batteries 3-4 times (ok make that 30 years!)
THIS IS A TRUE STORY, About 6 months ago i was driving home from a Smart car rally in Corona Ca. and the traffic was really bad. It was stop and go traffic all the way home. On the way home i was getting all kinds of looks, people starring, pictures taken, and people waving their hands at me, witch is normal. But on this particular day I had this brand new bright orange Mustang with paper plates pull up beside me with two people in it. The traffic was moving at about 35 miles per hour as they were giving me a thumbs up and were looking over my car not paying attention to the traffic that was slowing down in their lane. As i continued at a pace of approximately 35 miles per hour, his lane stopped moving as he rear ended a black Honda Accord. When i glanced back to look at the accident that just occurred I began to laugh uncontrollably realizing that i just caused a accident with my Smart car.
I think I may finally know what is going on with the on going problem. The first winter I had my smart, I was washing it often trying to keep it clean and free of road salt. I would make a point of spaying the underside of the car. When i was havi…
Diesel engine? Don't expect them for many years... I talked to someone at M-B, he told me that it's a regulation problem with Transport Canada. Every time they want to introduce a new engine, they must re-homologate the entire car, not only the engi…
Same thing happened in Canada afther they introduced the "old" 450 version. Firs year, you had to wait 6-8 month to receive your car. 2 years later, they had a bunch in dealers lots... Sales from the firs years can't count in a real analysis. They a…
